Start

Install

Download Widgetful, or install it with Homebrew.

Widgetful runs on macOS 14 or later. It is a signed and notarized app. It is not in the Mac App Store, because the App Store does not allow the helper that keeps the Mac awake with the lid closed.

Download the DMG

  1. Download Widgetful.dmg from the home page.
  2. Open the DMG.
  3. Drag Widgetful to the Applications folder.
  4. Open Widgetful from the Applications folder. Widgie shows in the menu bar.

Install with Homebrew

brew install --cask widgetful

Update

Download the new DMG and replace the app in the Applications folder. With Homebrew, run:

brew upgrade --cask widgetful

Note: When you move or replace the app, Widgetful updates its hooks the next time that you connect an agent.

Uninstall

  1. Open Settings › Agents and click Remove the hooks for each connected agent.
  2. Quit Widgetful. Normal sleep comes back.
  3. Move Widgetful from the Applications folder to the Trash.

Your settings are in ~/Library/Application Support/Widgetful/. Delete this folder to remove them.
